so its a no no to try and drill it with a left hand drill bit and maybe try and unsrcew it by tapping with a punch or the drill bit might even undo it I'm just paranoid now that theres a slight chain noise there or do these engines sound like that its only slight but definitely there if i did get it out i could replace with a 6mm stainless bolt, whats the worst that could happen ........thanks chaps for all your advice its just a learning curb should i try or not can we have a vote...............

WHY OH WHY did i decide to go classic i should have stuck to the mordern jap stuff i did try and get a pic of it but i just couldnt get a good focus on it with my camera the bolt that goes in this whole must go from a thicker thread down to a smaller thread because it looks like is has broke where it changes from the thicker to the smaller thread im just not sure what the bolt looks like when its out but is does look different from a normal straight one , if i do need to strip engine is it within my capabilites is it worth it as the engine is running sweet should i just wait until chain goes then do a full rebuild...............what a bloody nightmare

as i thought, have you ever removed a broken bolt its about 4 mm in the hole, from my haines book it appears to be the locking nut so i cant adjust the tensioner untill i have loosened this bolt im just worried that ill end up with a larger problem i have been told that the bolt is real hard to get hold of and i can replace with an m6 bolt but its just the removing of it should i drill it ,will oil pour out im really not sure any advice would be great
