Title: My version of a Hydraulic clutch conversion
Post by: r1_pete on February 22, 2014, 02:16:49 PM
I fancied having a go at a hydraulic clutch for a while, no real reason other than to be a bit different, I've seen many using a triangular type plate, but couldn't see how it was centred....
So came up with this, which centres on the original cover lip, I'm quite pleased after 3 or 4 hours on the lathe its turned out perfectly centred.
Next job is to plug the kickstart hole, then start polishing.

Really nice work there pete. What's the donor hydraulic actuator from?

Excellent job, have you removed the kick start permanently?.

Nice bit of lathework there! But, I am very curious as to how the oilpump is going to work without the kickstart shaft, have you shortened the shaft, or some other incredibly cunning plan?

The slave is from a CBR1000 but its pretty common across the Honda range.

The kick starter will be permanently removed, I'm going to cut the shaft a couple of mm short of the oil seal and press in an alloy blanking plug with a smear of Loctite.
