3 of the rubbers holding my battery box on my 550 are shot.
They are not available so I thought I’d make some.
Made a 2 part mould in the lathe and got some polyurethane liquid rubber stuff.
For a first attempt it came out a treat and there was no shrinkage.
The new one is a slightly different shape because it was done on the lathe. May get a new mould 3D printed so it will be the correct shape.
Top pic is the old one.

Nice work I did similar using 3D Printed mould for CB250K0 mudguard stay top hat washers.

Excellent looking products. The various rubber parts on any SOHC are difficult to find and these are the parts the various manufacturers are not producing so well done chaps for all the hard work.

I need to refine mine a bit, the polyurethane I used is way too hard.

Maybe of use as used to make things like this late 1970s for bespoke bike bracketry....... Black silicone rubber sealant, using a little acetic acid as accelerator/catalyst to reduce cure time.
About 2~3% by volume to try a first run, was pretty close to original factory type rubbers when cured.

I used 2-part polyurethane 70 Shore A hardness from Mouldcraft. They also do other hardness's. If I cast anything else I will add some extra black pigment, which they also sell.

I was given a 3D printer last year for my 70th. Still experimenting and made many of the downloadable parts from Thingiverse. Now started using "Blender" a free 3D design software. Very good but steep learning curve with a good community and help files. I have managed to make a range of cylindrical volume knobs in PLA...no good for strength though, so now trying PETG. I was given a reel of TPU which is soft and might be good for things like side cover grommets. I am still playing around at the moment.
Is there a way we could build a list of .STL files for bike specific parts?
Grandad...can you make me one of those snakes pleeeeese?

Yesterday I printed these cones at work for my frame alignment jig I am making to check my CB250RSA frame.
They were off Thngiverse and there was also also the file for smaller cones and a holder for 4 bearings to make a wheel-building/truing stand.
