Oddly enough, I'm not really too enthused about this bike, the amount of bits being changed on it kind of reduces it's true value historically to me. It's a bit like Trigger's broom, (the one from only fools and horses, not our Trig)
yes trigger's broom has a lot to answer for lol.
as with all restored bikes where does it start and where does it end.
i bought a mint condition cb750 in 1990's completely made up of nos parts except frame and engine and they was resprayed and rebuilt i put 3000 miles on this bike before i decided to put it away for prosperity.since then i have added a brand new exhaust system a nos tank i scratched the old one replaced the wrong front mudguard with a new wrong one (i could have bought a correct copy  from vietnam but decicded to stick with honda parts)only last year i replaced the chain guard with the correct short one .so do i have a new bike or still the old broom your guess is as good as mine lol
i was in stafford  a few years ago now and a unrestored brough ss100 sold for £157,000 and i think this has been the trend for quite a few years now ,although im a firm believer that all that glitters is gold
so i wouldnt expect this bike as rare as it is , to be as valuable as vic worlds prototype , i think its been sold at the wrong market place USA has always been the big market  ;) so its the same old broom to me aswell trigg

only just reading this i did not realize Dave had past away ,very sad news indeed, he was a great little guy. a right guru on honda stuff i last talked to him in malvern a few years ago im sure there are some of his vjmc mates will be looking out for his widows best interest
vic world is well aware of this bike and told me he has seen it in the flesh he remarked on a lot of hand made parts like the footrests if the interest in this bike goes virral like i think it will ,Im sure it will go for a princely sum and go abroad as others have said i would like to see it kept in U.K. but i cant see that happening

CB750 / Re: 750 K0 - K1 Exhaust Baffles
« on: January 24, 2018, 09:55:52 PM »
;) hi  yes the outside diameters are the same ,but the inside of the k0-k1 baffles are a lot longer than the k2 as the k2 really are end caps with a smaller outlet ,so fitting k2 baffles would tone it down a bit but very restricted outlet power wise as you are aware the open megas and k0-k1 exhausts are what really make these bikes sing lol
i have fitted k0 baffles to k2 exhaust as they had rotted their internal baffles, there is no support inside the k2 baffles for them to fit securely,so the only support you will have will be the securing bolt at the back so not the ideal answer .and if you cut the ends off the k0-k1 baffles you would back to where you started with the open megas namely really loud pipes which i love lol

No 31... I wonder how many they made a day when they first started manufacture... would be nice to know.. was it made before the first coffee break.... or did it come along after lunch
its been said that honda was originally gonna make 1500 cb750's year  ;) but that was to be increased to 1500 a month as demand was so great world wide probably  thats why we did not have any until january 1970  :(
so apart from the low frame # you cant say its even a rare bike  ;D but still nice to know that the prices are still on the up  init  james  :-*

CB750 / Re: cb750 f1 starter motor removal
« on: November 11, 2017, 06:47:42 PM »
;) hi you need  a couple of flat screwdrivers one to prize out the starter and other to lift the rear of starter motor and it should lift right out, it is a tight fit , you can remove the tensioner aswell

I know Steff on here has a few UK early diecasts (don't like to call them K0's)
we have always known of the diecast and sandcast  bikes as being just named the cb750 everything that came after so was called k0 k1 k2 k4 k6 only these bikes came to the UK of course there are k3 k5 k7  even k8 same goes for cb250 cb500 cb450 etc etc the k series came later but as you know the big market was and still is the good old USA  and the rest of the world of course us die hard britts still drolled over what could have been  lol even the japs  feared the rocket 3 and trident dont forget the norton comando was voted bike of the year for 3 years on a trot  dont get me wrong awesome track bikes and faster than the hondas but biking was getting a honda make over electric start  indicators and no oil leaks and as a bonus zero maintinance  as for the american imports .it just goes to show that the UK can still be used as a a dumping ground for all those  old university toys jap cr@p and including the britt sh+t we just need to remember we are still bottom of the pile thanks to europe lol i need more beer now im boring myself now ;)

Misc / Open / Re: Haynes manuals
« on: October 05, 2017, 09:29:40 PM »
;) well ash i had to rebuilt cb750 engines with a haynes manuel and at the time  atleast better than nowt and a lot cheaper than the genuine honda manuel. like the saying goes RTFM ,ever since i was old enough to hold a torch i had to watch my old man fix his car in the dark nights and i would ask him whats that for then? and he would say shut up and hold the torch steady lol,  i used to reading all his motorcycle mechanics mags and worked my way up to his bike manuels and car manuels,he would tell me if you dont understand the manuel read it again. and if you still dont understand it ? then read it again until you do lol he was always bringing home old bikes and scrap cars he would say he needed them for spares the garden was always littered with scrap cars and engines gearboxes back axles so from there came the knowledge to tackle anything plus we all have mates who could muck in and help.they was good old days them
i came first in motor mechanics every year at school for that simple reason and the teacher told me that was the job for me lol but i had other ideas . ended up driving heavy plant i still prefer driving and riding to fixing ;)

« on: September 24, 2017, 11:59:21 PM »
;) yes these bikes are awesome for just riding and seeing a bit of the county side not just a blur like on sports bikes (not that i got anything against that but been there done it and survived too tell the tale lol) they just go on and on for miles with out missing a beat, the other week i nearly blew my wad on a ariel square four almost 9 grand on a bit of basket case nostalgia .then i woke up and realized i already have six of the best four cylinder bikes ever made, almost zero prepping just add fuel and away you go. last year was first time i parked bikes up over the winter from november to march and a very long winter it was

;) ive got enough junk to get on with  lol

;) strange as it seems i have two wrinkle tanks  on two of my 1970 cb750's and i dont think these would have been changed as both bikes was pretty much unmolested  ::) and as stated earlier it was part of the manufactering process at the time and was superceeded . like the die-cast process  8)  just my take on it
