You should of taken the tubes out before you put them in the tank. Why would you want to take the bank apart??

A good match is stainless steel pistons and genuine seals. Did find some stainless pistons for £12 each.

Lobo, I have spoke to a few 400 guru's worldwide on were this cable eye goes. I can not get a straight answer from anyone. Someone did say that it may be down to the country and model but, i can never remember having a engine in with one fitted. Maybe we will never know.
Nice paint on the engine Lobo 6364

Cheers Mick, The bars i have are lower than the ones in the drawing/picture. I can not get the brake hose down between the clocks.
The bar type i have are the same as the KO in this link>>> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CB500-FOUR-1971-MINT-ORIGINAL-CONDITION-2400-MILES-UNRESTORED-/331276440972?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=9nI746JaJXMHJumMOU2O9E1f6sg%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc Sorry, in the last picture. 6365

Bitsa, you did not order stainless steel spokes with alloy or stainless nipples? The best is nickle plated brass for stainless

James, you want to try and get the stainless steel spokes out of a wheel when they have used alloy nipples. That is when its time for the bolt croppers.

Bitsa, the best thing with using a solid insert is you can put it in with a little retainer. You can't use retainer on a helicoil.
1970 Bitsa? I thought back then you just wrapped a bit of tin foil round the thread and squeezed it back in. 6369

Helicoils are only good for blind holes. For a non-blind hole your need solid insert. The helicoil will do the job but, what i have found is when you next remove the spark plug the helicoil will come out with it. Then you will have to get a solid insert. Better to do the job right the first time
If you have anyone local that reconditions cylinder heads, they will be able to do the job. 6370

Nope, you can not helicoil one. You need a insert to do the job.
