Thanks Ted, not looking forward to it but am fed up now with being restricted in what I can do.

Good luck with the op Dennis. I had a biopsy carried out on my right ear a couple of weeks ago and it is still too painful to even attempt to put a crash helmet on!

Now that sounds nasty

Hi John, at first it was identified as Carpel tunnel syndrome as I was getting terrible tingling/burning in my hands and pain in my thumbs/wrists. But an X Ray revealed that both thumb joints were shot, this was causing inflamation and the carpel tunnel problem.
So hopefully the new thumb joints will cure both problems.

Hopefully I can get the Honda out for a ride before the end of the good weather, I go in for the first operation to get a new thumb joint in May (left hand) with the right hand following after that. At the moment I can only make about a mile before the pain in my right hand stops me dead.

CB750 / Re: CB750F1 4 into one silencer availability?
« on: April 08, 2024, 01:02:42 PM »
It's nice to know that you can get one and at a reasonable price, I actually discarded mine when I bought the bike new as it was limiting the ground clearance, mind you I was a bit faster in them days, it would probably be fine now.

As an F1 and F2 owner I would say that is definately an F2 and looks like it has been well kept, like the others on this site I would go for it myself and do a top end strip down just to see what is going on in there.
As for taking the motor out do the laying the bike on it's side trick.

They made a great job on the silencer, as Laveda Dave said it's unusual for a plater to entertain exhaust systems.

Misc / Open / Re: cost of speedo calibration.

The speedo on my 750F1 is 7 mph fast at all speeds, I just live with it, when I got the bike on the road after rebuild it frightened me to death when I was following my wife in the car through speed camera infested Liverpool.

Looks great, I've have only ever ridden one of those once and was amazed at how smooth it was and how easy to handle it was on the move.

Be patient, it took ages for the oil light on my 750 to go out on first start up but I persevered and did not fire her up until it did.

I don't remember when I last donated so I will do so now, over the years this site has helped with advice, information and recommendations so it's only right that I pay something back

Not used that one, but my CB750F1 is always hooked up to my Optimate III which probbaly does the same thing as the one in your photo, I just leave the tail on the bike and hook up and disconnect when needed. But as said whatch the acid level as I did have one dry out a few years ago.

That looks great, certainly better than my home made one made from a rubber door mat.

Put one on my 750F1, it worked great, but the front mudguard rusted under it, probably should have painted the area it covered with anti rust paint.

Cheers
