Title: Brake issues
Post by: JustcallmeMrT on March 05, 2016, 08:04:23 AM
Hello all, it been awhile since I posted a cry for help but this one has me stumped.  when I turn the wheel from lock to lock, the brakes seem to drag on the disc at the extremes of left and right turn.  This isn't a problem during normal riding obviously, just makes it harder to push the bike around when I park up as there is some pressure on the disc, but it still has me a bit worried if I've done something wrong.  It is a dual disc conversion, and the lines have been replaced with braided hoses.  I've read that removing the metal line can cause problems as the hoses can flex and put tension on the caliper, but I'm not convinced that this is the issue.

Any ideas?

I used to know the front wheelbearings on my 500/4 sidecar bike were on their way out if that happened. Worth just checking they are fully bedded in and the retainer is in fully etc just in case something moved after installation perhaps, also just check everything on the front end is nice and tight, I cannot remember if you used a standard mudguard off the top of my head but it does act as a fork brace. I never had any issues with full braided steel lines from master to caliper causing anything like this and have only ever run cb500 /550 with full stainless all in 1 pipe.

Turned out to be the spacing on the second caliper - sorted!

Isn't it nice when the owner takes time to tell you what the problem turned out to be. Nice one MrT.
