Hi all, been a long time since I posted on here, I've just got around to my 400 4s again. So I've just finished overhauling a set of carbs and was just getting around to doing an initial bench set up when i looked down the head side of the bores. 2 of them have got a curve to the bottom of the slides and 2 havn't. What's going on? Answers on a post card please?

hi all, has anyone had experience of using any of the many (new) coils advertised on EBay. Also what's your experience of electronic ignition (reliability) and what choices are there. Thanks Terry

That little chrome clip on the horn bracket is driving me potty. Can anyone explain how its meant to fit, or ideally post a picture please. The horn faces sideways, and I'd always assumed that the clip faced upwards and towards the frame to hold the throttle cables, but then I read on here somewhere that it goes the otherway round and holds the tacho cable in. I must have spent an hour this morning pratting around with it, and I'm still none the wiser. Terry

Hi, can anyone tell me a part number for the rivets that hold the Data plate on, or where I can get any? I guess for obvious reasons they're not listed in the Honda parts book. Cheers Terry

Hi All, I'm just about to fit my new D/S exhaust and was wondering what clamps I need on the down pipe to collector box. The parts list shows 2 different clamps, but they were of course for the original (2 pipes welded) version. So which clamp do I order for all 4 pipes? Thanks Terry

Hi all New to this forum, been lurking for a while. I've been a Brit bike man all my life, but I've always liked the 400 fours, and now I seem to have ended up with several to build one out of. I've been following the exhaust thread with interest and I just wondered about the mention of exhausts turning blue if they're not double skinned. Why? With brit bikes if the down pipes (single skin) are blue it's considered a bit of a poor show really. It usually means you've either got the mixture or the timing wrong . So what's different. Just curious. Terry
