I have a rusty, slightly bent one (breather bracket that is) if you want to refurbish.

Arrived here safely and much appreciated.

Thank you.

Just had my CB500 tank and panels back from Menno and the guy is an absolute star. Very helpful and does an absolutely superb job. As good (if not better) than it was in the shop 40 odd years ago. Perfect job and excellent service.

Mine managed to come without that and I have just spotted it on the CMS site.

Thanks

That reminds me. M&P never sent me the logbook for the CB500 I bought from them last September

CB750 / Re: Chain lube, food for thought.
« on: April 29, 2019, 09:53:00 AM »

I am sure the chains he was testing were O ring or X chains, these are effectively sealed .

I think most of the chains on the sohc range are basic chains,

so ideally a grease/oil mixture, that will creep into the links, and remain for as long as possible.

I use spray ,either Morris or Wurth ,both seem good,
very rarely I will remove the chain and immerse it in Duckhams chainlube,

anyone remember those large round tins ???

PS, a Peter Furlong enclosed chaincase does help to keep it clean

Just brought the smell of that stuff back to me after a 40 year break. Thanks :(

I'm not near Lincolnshire. But I am 1 mile away from Frank Wrathall. So maybe I'll see if I can book it in with him.
But ultimately. All I want is the bike to be as pleasant as possible to ride, in its present form.

Frank is excellent and really knows his stuff. Tunes some of the fastest production bikes in the world.

Find somebody with a dyno and an interest in classic bikes and book a couple of hours dyno time.... well worth it for a non std set up, the only way to get it right. You wont find anybody who can tell you what jets to use over the internet, maybe some can give you a rough starting point but thats all. Good luck with it.

If anywhere near Grantham Roy at RP Motorsport is excellent. Dyno, tons of knowledge and old school too.

I wish people, not had alcohol for over 6 months! Or salt, sugar mimimal fats etc etc, cant even have me favourite sarnies---------have you seen the amount of salt in bread and ham!

I don’t drink a lot of beer but when the doctor told me I had to cut down on salt, sugar and fats I ripped the piece of paper up and threw it away. I cut out chemicals and processed foods and feel a thousand percent better. I just eat proper food that still tastes good to eat.

What is it, that makes some people think that including the word "Sandcast" when advertising something for sale.
Justifies a ridiculously high price?
Even if the part is common to other models.

When the bubble bursts it will be a loud bang. Houses, cars, gold, everything has drops and corrections. Supply and demand is the dictator.

Many thanks for your kind comments.

Dave : looking spot on you should be proud...what's your next one going to be?  ;D ;D

If all goes to plan and the 911, currently at a specialist dealer, gets sold  - big if, as due to #@%$ uncertainty I think, nearly all the classic cars for sale in November I've been watching are still up for sale - and if I can make a deal at the right price with the current owner, it will be this, a 1950's Alfa Giulietta Sprint. Worth a lot when done, it depends on what's missing or needs doing, the current owner is no mug and will have a good idea what it's worth, but it's going nowhere until I'm ready, I've been told. However that'll be a thread for another board if it happens. The CB750 K1 may have to go too if I need the garage space and cash.

Here's an immaculate finished restoration for sale, note the eye watering price!

https://www.southwood.co.uk/showroom/67/Alfa-Romeo-Giulietta-Sprint-Series-1.html

I'd follow a thread on a 1967 Bomber rebuild Roy, as Ash says, many differences, sorry I can't help with a wiring diagram.

I had the CL450 running again this morning and once warmed up I got a nice strong tickover, but them as I stood back and watched the revs shot up for no good reason and I had to switch off! Not sure what that's all about, but fuel was dripping from the left hand carb. There seems to be a fine line with the float level between no fuel in the bowl and too much, I need to investigate.

Not sure if it's #@%$ or just a natural correction but some parts of the classic car market are very soft at the moment.
