Title: Fuel tank
Post by: davefirestorm on March 31, 2019, 01:17:18 PM
I intend replacing the the fuel tank on my 1975 750 F as the one on it has been welded and looks sh**e,one I intend using has a 16x1.5 mm male thread on as per photo,is this correct? I will stick a new tap on but Silvers want £65 for an F model tap,one off a Superdream will fit at £9.95.Whats special apart from the big price difference?

No idea but Honda used different sizes on different bikes and years.

I seem to recall the F1 is 20mm, and is larger than most other Honda's. Even the F2 is smaller. The 750 K5/6 and F1 use the same tap, but they are hard to find at a decent price, and second hand ones usually need the filter and sealing washer renewing, only available as a kit with no change from £20 for the genuine kit. Get an accurate measure across the outlet of your tank, just in case it's been changed for an F2 at some point in it's life.

It is 16x1.5 mm thread and a Superdream tap screws on ( just happen to have one in garage )
