New Member Introductions / Hello from Scotland

Hi, just joined here after a tip-off from the main SOHC forum. Been into bikes for about 15 years, all bar one that I've owned have been Hondas. Started with a '95 CBR600, had a brief flirtation with a Fazer 600 when they first came out in '98, then bought a new VFR800 in '99 which I kept for 7 years (and wish I'd never sold). Had a couple of years off until I picked up a '90 VFR750 by accident on eBay - it was going cheap so I put in a silly bid and won it much to my surprise (and my wife's as I hadn't told her I'd bid on it  :-[)

Somewhere along the lines about 10/11 years ago I picked up a CB650SC 'Luxury Custom'. A bit of detective work suggests it is a 1982 model, imported from Japan. It was in fairly poor order when I got it - gutless, air-assisted forks leaking like a sieve, etc. I rode it sporadically for a couple of years and then it has been stuck at the back of my garage since about 2005. Finally getting around to restoring it, plan is to get it running this summer and then strip it properly for a full restoration. Being an ex-rallyist I've done plenty of work on cars over the years but this is my first bike 'project'. If anyone has a set of forks or an exhaust I might be interested, as neither of them are going to see another MoT.

When I'm not messing around with/on bikes I'm working as a photographer, plus I do some TV camera work for motor racing (coming regularly to a satellite dish near you!) and rallying. Sometimes I do music video stuff, but there's mostly no money in that these days  :'( although I have worked with a few interesting people and bands so at least it's fun.

Based in East Central Scotland, married, kids (eldest has a 600 Bandit), Sagittarius, curry lover, prog fan, rubbish guitar player. Erm ... that's enough.

Anyway - hello.
