Used petseal my self on an f2 tank to seal some internal rust, seems to be absolutely fine now. Used to block the No2 carb feed up regularly.

For my 69 bonnie a qd rear wheel wouldn't go amiss, 18"jones would be awesome. Lots of other stuff too but this is a honda forum so best not say too much. Steve would probably tell me off.

There are things called thread chasers which are used for cleaning up damaged threads. Available from good engineering hardware dealers. You could give them a try, they work on thread pitch rather than dia and can be used rather like a file. Complete sets available for around

There are several on ebay from the US if that helps. Not a very inspiring selection though. I have a cb750 f2 one if its the same fitting. Again not pristine but serviceable.

I'm the same as bigal I always nod and sometimes get response. Tis true the younger fraternity tend not to, and Harley riders only to their fellow owners mostly. Older bikers are on the whole friendlier and abroad a Brit bike especially is treated with reverence. Street bikes seem to be the least friendly but then they do seem to go past at a great rate of knots, probably waving half a mile down the road.

don't try and tap the thread all at once turn the tap back a full turn every so often or it can jam and snap and then you're in to a completely different ball game. You may know this already but I thought I ought to mention it.
