not out and about as such, but i caught a bus to chepstow this morning and rode my new vtr back to carmarthen in the rain.  had a few hairy moments after giving it a few handfuls.  mental bike!

Had a lovely few hours out on Hettie the CB400/4 today. I haven't ridden her that much over the past  few weeks due to it being so hot but today was perfect at 20 degrees for a good ride. They are hot running bikes at the best of times and with the temps having been in the 30's I have been using the CB550/4. Hettie has now done almost 1000 miles since all the engine work and she is running beautifully. The engine is nice and loose now, very free reving and responsive, a right little pocket rocket.......so much fun.

Is it like mine and goes light again?
Nope, mine stays constantly heavy, bloody makes my hand and wrist ache after not too many miles. I even have 3 little callus's on my hand and a blister...but I do have very small hands so I'm probably just having to grip the throttle so tight to twist it. Hasn't stopped me doing almost 2000 miles on it though 🙂🙂🙂

I have a very, very, heavy throttle on my CB550 and mine is definitely the spring. I need to put a different one on but it can wait for a snowy day to be done.

Almost every Honda engine we get sent from USA for overhaul needs major welding. Usually where the chain has made a massive hole in the cases, all need fin repairs and general casing repairs but Trig does it himself.

No, there won't be much left of it. They are not available OEM anymore but I know Trig has a big trade pack of them in the engine building workshop.

Trig says drill it or put a tap down it and try and pull it out.

I use D7EA as mine is running spot on, not too lean and not too rich, just perfect.

I placed an order with them a couple of hours ago with no problems Roy.
Cheers Julie. Was that direct on their website or via eBay?
Phone 😊😊😊, I speak fluent Japanese, only joking.  Via Ebay Roy, I have just checked again and I can order via both though.

CB750 / Re: CB750 F1 Shocking news. (photos)

Never had any issues with quality on any TEC shocks. I fitted TEC's to my CB400/4 over 3 years ago and they are still perfect, chrome is good, no sign of rubbing anywhere and they give a great ride. I had Hagons fitted before the TEC's, nightmare, never again. When OEM shocks are not available I think TEC's are a fantastic alternative in both performance and looks, that's why we fit them to all our SOHC's. Also, having read through some of the posts on the link you gave, it doesn't sound like anyone actually spoke to Matthew Milburn at TEC about the issues, shame, as he is one of the most helpful and understanding people in the bike spares market.
