So do you paste the character into the post each time you want to use it?

John, the recent weather and posting activity leads me to ask if there's a setting that allows additional characters to be used in posts.

Like a "degrees" character for example.

I can do it on my Blackberry under "symbols" but SMF doesn't seem to have the facility (unless there's an add-on?)

BTW: Triumph Forum doesn't do it either (they use vBulletin)

Blue skies and sunshine today, but about -2 Celsius

School still closed ( ??? ) as local authority seem to have bottled out over the whole thing.

This was yesterday morning at about 7am.

A common misconception John.
There is much more of the "Underground" that is actually overground - and it's the drivers who can't get to the depots.

The answer is probably "use a computer" like on the DLR - was that running today?

Took Beverley to work but Headteacher closed the school as soon as we got there!

So, a day off.

My kids in SE London (Greenwich/Lewisham) report about 6" and chaos (and both colleges closed  ;D)

Tea trays in Greenwich Park then?

Hi.

As you're from the US, you might want to go to www.sohc4.net/forums as that's where most of your compatriots are! Use the same username so that we recognise you!

3-4 inches. Roads are a sheet of ice (under the snow). Can't see the roadsigns or where the kerb is.

Might stay at home (will do if Beverley's school is closed (we wait in hope!)

Bike show yesterday - bloody freezing!

Hi Paul - this is predominantly a UK (and Ireland) site.

There are quite a few Aussies on our "sister" site in the US www.sohc4.net/forums  - post there too!

I assume that you use the word "helicoil" as a generic description.

The local independent who rebuilt my Sprint engine explained the different types of "insert". He didn't think much of "helicoil" - don't know what he ended up using, except that it was the type of insert that doesn't require the tang breaking off.

I'd use a professional - for two plugs it can't cost too much.

Sorry John. That doesn't render to a favicon very well!

See that little black square with the bike in it on your toolbar/address bar/bookmark/favourite (*delete as appropriate)?  That's a favicon and has been added to the site (by John).

The picture is a Triumph Sprint...

so if any of you out there have a good picture/logo/graphic you'd like to submit, we'll have a little competition. Winner gets his/her icon used on the site!

"Rules":

1. Image must be square!
2. Image can be any size (I'll reduce it)
3. Image must be simple as it has to be rendered to 32x32 pixels

Fire away!

Steve

Or maybe, like Dr Who in "The Library" we could have "Proper Dave"

Mind you, one of those sonic screwdrivers would be ace for removing seized bolts!

Hello Dave.

I'm beginning to wonder whether we should allow any more Daves on here - it gets a bit confusing!

Good luck with the rebuild.

Steve
