Very strange summer weather, hot sun, rain, cold and rain and just cold, our central heating is on and off quite a bit with all this, mind you my boss gets cold if the temperature drops below 20c, she reckons it's due to her thyroid.

Wow, I thought that was a bike museum, what a great collection of bikes lots and lots of tinkering in the shed types.

The original tank (red) on my 750F1 leaked in the mid eighties probaly 85 or so, I saw an ad in MCN for Honda parts (David Silver spares) and bought a new CB750F2 tank and seat never realising that Silvers would one day grow into such an empire. In those days they were cheap as chips as well.

I use both Denso X22ES-U and X24ES-U plugs in my 750F1 the last set I got from Sparkplugs Limited and had no problem with them.

I came across this when I was stripping down the F1 to start the rebuild, at first there was a broken stub visible about 1 inch, so I tried heat, penetrating oil, freezing stuff all to no avail. I then used a roller type extracter which broke the stud revealing that nothing at all had penetrated So it was head off and away to a machine shop, this did not bother me too much as I then could check the top end as the bike had been in storage for 10 years, I did find a stuck piston ring so it was worth it. Thank you guys, I'm off to the hospital this afternoon for the first check up after the op, but it seems to be working well.

Nice one, dead jealous but hopefully on the way back to getting out on the bike, left thumb joint replace, now some rehab and then the throttle hand later in the year. Cheers Dennis

Fascinating, and amazing that it survived, though the full story would be even better.

With all that going on a grump is a perfectly normal reaction, so don't worry about it. It's a lot to take in and will take time for the pain to fade.

That bike sure is looking pretty, I have always liked the looks of those 500 pipes, it sounds like a lot of faffing around to fit them but it will be worth it in the end. Keep up the good work.

Looks like whoever fitted those pipes was smoking something very strong, they are really horrible.
