Been having starting problems and flipped a carb bowl off to have a peak and it was pretty gummy and lots of sediment.
Can anybody recommend a carb cleaning specialists. In South Cheshire area but distance doesn't really matter.

I have never used Matt Harper as I have my own US bath which is big enough for a rack of 750 carbs but maybe you get what you pay for.
I have heard very good reports about Matts work. You only need someone without his knowledge to US clean in the wrong fluid and the lovely iridescent finish is destroyed forever.
I think Roy http://www.sohc.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=13487 on here uses him all the time so possibly he will comment on prices/service.

Ah sorry ...was the 150 just for vapour cleaning then? .. I assume that is vapour blasting

Matt Harper is a great guy really helpful, he sent me some bits for my carbs for free he is one of the best you can deal with...you get what you pay for at the end of the day...OK if you have got your own gear & know what you are doing that's great but not everyone is that hands on or that fortunate to have all the gear.....also dont forget the old adage "all the gear but no idea"... ;D

What's wrong with doing it yourself?
They are a very simple carb.
Get a couple of cans of carb cleaner
And a few bristles from a wire brush. And away you go.
Have a relaxing hour or two in the shed.
I personally have no faith in Ultrasonic cleaning.
The Emperors new clothes in my opinion.
Regards.
Sean.

Agree. But, don't push anything through the jets on these carbs. The jets have 'spiders' in them to give turbulence to the fuel flow, no spider, no turbulence.

Mine were a bit gummy after a 10year holiday but with a bit of elbow grease, white spirit, carb cleaner, brillow pads they came out OK, though I made sure that I did not use anything too hard cleaning them out, lolly sticks and McDonald stirrers were my favourites.
