Title: CB550K3 Air scoop & Lower handle bar clutch casting
Post by: Gromitdog on July 04, 2020, 09:44:20 AM
I have purchased a Honda CB 550 k3 which unfortunately has had more than its fair share of owner's in its life time & over the years has turned into a bit of a mongrel. Which hopefully can be sorted by some TLC :)

I am trying to source a tool tray / air scope for my CB550k3 would any one be able to point me in the right direction to be able to source one please, Are there any other's which will fit from other models of the same period?

I am also looking for a L/H Handel Bar Lower Clutch Casting with the letters PA stamped into it as I have discovered that mine has a stripped thread  :( which maybe one of the main causes on why I can't get a nice clutch adjustment

Any help with these items would be most appreciated sorry there are no pictures couldn't get them to attach  >:(

Regards

Hi this is what the CB500/4 K1 looks like with and without the scoop thing.
Maybe if it looks the same the tray will be ok.
I bought the tray on ebay for about £12 and if patient, reasonably priced ones do crop up.
I bought the gauze on eBay I think. Sold the surplus. I’ve seen someone selling similar offcuts.
The guage may is about 2mm

It depends what market the 550/4 K3 was manufactured for, some models I believe have a flipped over snorkel type affair that faces sideways and other have a forward facing sort of snorkel.

Correct, the  550 K3 (and K4, I believe) have a sideway snorkel (n. 9 in this picture)

while the tool tray is actually a compartment with a flap under the seat, or rather "in" the seat (n. 4 in this image)

Have a rummage around this site, you may find what you need (disclaimer: I have never bought from them - yet - so I cannot give any guarantee...)
