Just took my bike out today for an hours run and noticed white smoke coming from the exhaust pipe when I got back home. Has fresh petrol in and bike ran fine, opened it up to about 90mph , any thoughts.

Does it mean they have selected a new Pope???

Hot exhaust air into cold air ? don't think its anything to worry about ;) cheers Mick.

Normally:
Black smoke = running rich
Blue smoke = burning oil
White smoke = water vapour
Not sure why you'd see white smoke after an hours ride?

First time its been ridden in about four months, hope its just water vapour or selection of the new Pope.

...opened it up to about 90mph...
...jet trail? ;)
Seriously: what air temps and humidity were present? Could it have been cold humid air creating condensate with the warm exhaust gases?
Or you had the bike only operated for a short time on a prior run, leaving a noticeable amount of dew in the silencers?
Fuel quality/water contend could as well be a factor.
(the cans of my 1100cc rig actually have drainage bores, dripping water out while warming up...)

I'm sure your right, I have not ridden the bike for months and hopefully its condensation in the exhaust pipe.
