Title: 650 cafe progress.
Post by: RickyC83 on March 23, 2013, 06:35:50 PM
Finally got some time to start working on the frame today.
De-tabbed cut the rear end, made a plate to house battery and electronics.
Nice to feel like I've done something to it wish work wasn't so crazy.

In my (limited) experience that was due to either the ingredients being old or the temperature too low.

Yes the temperature has a lot to do with it and the correct amount of hardener,
what did you cut your foam with?

Terns out I didn't use the right amount of hardener. So it never set.  (Idiot)

So started again and this time it went well. Had about a litre and a half of resin and 4 layers of glass fibre. It's pretty strong now.

Used a surated kitchen knife to cut the foam (got in to trouble for that BIG TIME)
Then sandpaper to smooth it out.

There's a vid on utube by dime city cycles on how to do it
