I bet that headlamp cover was day glow orange, I had one on a 500 Triumph cafe racer.
I met Mike Hailwood at a book signing in Manchester, he ignored his minder telling him they were supposed to be somewhere else as he was enjoying chatting to me about the TT! Lovely bloke, so ironic he died in a road accident after surviving the 500 Honda GP bike and the fearsome Porsche 917 at Le Mans.
I never saw James Hunt but loved his F1 commentaries with Murray Walker. When they talk about sports nutritionists these days I smile and think about James and his diet of Marlboro and blondes.

Bet that bike would be worth a few quid. Last taxed 1982, but still on the DVLA database
