CB750 / Re: Original colour to Frame #

If it's a UK bike, and it's registered to you, download form V888 from the DVLA website, send that off with a cheque for £5 and they will send you photocopies (usually poor but legible) of all the V5 changes of keeper right back to first registration if they have it.

I have obtained histories for any number of my bikes this way.......and the original V5 if you get a copy will show the colour at first registration....job done.

If it's not a UK bike you are back where you started.

Take a look at these.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281117571669?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1712wt_932

The description is in German and English, they seem to be Daytona reproductions.  I know nothing about them, but at £828 plus carriage they are vastly cheaper......still a shed load of money but cheaper all the same.  The only alternative is Yamiya and they are eye wateringly expensive....or DSS if he has them.

I dont see a picture showing the HM341 script, so it may be worth asking if that is present or not.

If I ever need a set it's going to be HM300.......anyone know if they are readily available without a mortgage?

According to this very informative posting       http://www.sohc4.net/?p=111

If I'm reading it correctly you have a CB750F1 engine.

I had exactly the same experience with Engineering Solutions Bexley.  I sent them an early Yamaha XS2 master cylinder for a re sleeve, it's unique to the first XS2s and almost impossible to find.....months went by with regular pleading phone calls......during one call (about four months in) he had the cheek to say 'you should have said you wanted a rush job'

In short I scoured ebay and eventually found a useable one in the US.  My very rare master cylinder is still at Engineering solutions and I guess will still be on the shelf when they fold.

For welding and frame repairs (anything metal really) go to Terry Mead in Pluckley, Tel 01233 840323 or   allyson.mead@live.co.uk

Terry is not only a very nice chap but also a high end bespoke frame builder, there isn't much he can't do with a welding or brazing torch.......and a quick turnaround too.

Other Bikes / CB450 Black Bomber Parts
« on: July 21, 2011, 07:57:13 PM »

Hi all, well after much searching for a Black Bomber I finally got one, and it's a bike I previously owned and sold seven years back.

I'm more than happy with it, but the downside is the guy who had it swapped the NOS speedo / rev counter unit I'd fitted.

Now it has a very average faded item on it..........so I'm in the hunt please for a NOS or mint CB450 Bomber speedo unit.

I'm also interested in any other Bomber parts.....anything considered.
