All loaded up and ready to depart my 550 is off to a new home at the weekend. I will be sad to see it go, but that leaves a gap in the garage for another project for the coming winter. I haven't got a clue what that might be yet, but I do fancy a CB250RS single.
Believe it or not myself and wife #1 went to Sicily and back on one in the early 1980's, the little bike never missed a beat.

It's always sad to see a bike you put so much time and effort go but as you say, it leaves a gap for a new one!
If you've had a CB250RSA before you know they are great bikes. I restored the bike I've had for 20 years a couple of years ago. I started a thread on its rebuild on here. Here's the link including all the pitfalls:

Menno specially mixed the paint as it was unobtainable. The balance chain will have stretched, a new one from CMSNL is about £280, it's a Go-Kart chain, you can buy them for £25! Same goes for the crankshaft bearing, you can buy exactly the same bearing from Simply Bearings for a fraction of the cost!

Thanks Dave, if I do get one I'll certainly give you a shout for advice.
I had a look on fleabay the other week, there was a couple, including one with a load of parts needing work, but it was down in the far South west, too far for a quick look and I've bought perhaps one too many bikes without seeing them in the flesh first. I'll keep my eyes open, there's no rush and knowing me I'll probably end up with a polar opposite to an RS, but one is on the shopping list.

550 looks nice, especially with that delkevic pipe, the new owner will be well chuffed 8)

After an early morning kick off, I met the new owner half way along the A66 to save him a long trip down to our place from Glasgow. He was very pleased with the bike and I'm chuffed its gone to a good home as the gentleman concerned is a really nice fella. I'll mention this forum to him and I hope he has a lot of fun with the bike. As I said before I hope you don't mind me hanging around as I may well end up with another SOHC Honda before too long.
