That cracked piece is a separate item to the main plate and can be replaced if done carefully

If you leave it rattling it will eventually wear through the oil galler from pump to filyer and/or the main cross gallery either of which is terminal

Unfortunately it wasn't the conversion from 8 to 4 shafts that totally cured the wear problem it was the 76 onwards cover where the shafts were locked into the cover by cotter bolts that cured it. Having said that I have only ever seen 2 worn out rocker covers

distinctly possible the engine is original, from my list the bike was built approx. 8/72

I seem to remember that on the K3 one rubber was a different angle to the rest But it might have been both outers

If you have the K3 ones they are rocking horse poo, especially the one that is different. DS sells pattern 500 ones

There are firms in the US that reprofile cams but don't know of any in the UK. Any 750 cam will fit and run and the power loss will be minimal and almost cetainly un noticable

No reason why not, put it as hot water as you can stand to get it round the tank curves

I think those are m7 with an 8mm hexagon--DO NOT try and undo one that has been in there for a long time without warming the caliper housing and also use a long socket with a T bar so you don't put uneven stress on the thread

As I said I don't think the one bulb would be enough, if you fitted a strip of leds facing forwards maybe. That one bulb is designed as a parking light not a running light

If you mean the sidelight bulb in the headlamp you can put an LED in there but neither it nor the original is bright enough for daylight running
