Just joined the forum, mostly been reading before and now I have decided to become my own bike doctor I thought I best join too.
I have a very nice Red-1975-CB400f and it runs. Currently, I am cleaning/inspecting the carbs as I suspect shenanigans in there. Not being mechanical in any way whatsoever I am mostly on a discovery tour whilst doing this.
I would stick a photo of the bike on here but I don't see an option to embed the image, just link it aand I don't have any images online. So, just imaging a very shiny, Red 400f and you wil be close... ::)
The bike and I are currently living in Penzance.

Welcome to the forum.
Have you tried the ‘Attachments and other options’ at the foot of the posting page.
You can simply attach a photo from your hard drive, tablet, iPad etc..You can even take a photo live if your using your phone or an iPad….

Welcome to the forum.
Pictures I think are barred until you get over 5 post (anti-spam measure I presume) so a few more input and you'll be there.

Correct.
Stops the auto-posters.
It seems to work in that we don’t get many spammers on here

Welcome to the forum from the other end of the country. Not only that but if you travel the 800 odd miles to get near you still have to get the ferry to take you accross. You have definitely come to the right place for the machine you have plenty knowledgable people on here.

welcome, welcome, welcome.
Enjoy, were a useful bunch of buggers on here 8)

OK, a funky attachment button to get an image loaded, lets try that then

OK, got that image loaded, lets hope fitting carbs back on the bike is just as easy. ;D

Hi. Welcome to the Forum. I'm a CB400F owner too. Lots of good people on here offering good advice when needed. Make the most of it and enjoy!

Any reason why the gaiters are fitted so low? wouldn't it be better to clamp them just under the yoke to allow maximum movement?

Welcome, tidy looking bike there. Getting the carbs on and off is easy once you've done it about 10 times. Adding photo attachments, well you seem to have that covered.

Welcome to the forum. That's a nice looking bike. Remove the gaiters though, they were never fitted to 400/4's.

Welcome to the Forum I have just completed my 400 rebuild. I have found posting photos easy via Flickr using the BBCode and copying the link & then pasting it.
-
Welcome to the 400/4 forum :). Lots of help on here so just ask.
I agree with Julie, take the gaiters off, they detract your eyes from what is a lovely bike and I don't think you will use it in the rain so no need for them.

That's a good plan, more shiny bits. They were fitted by previous owner I guess and no, this will not be out in the rain so off they will come.
