The other day I bought this wheel second hand. The spokes obviously need cleaning.
I am not interested in super shiny spokes. As they original were, is good enough for me.
Above all I want to avoid options that although may first result in very shiny spokes, but thereafter will require frequent maintenance to avoid rusting.
I have been suggested a few options:
Clean them with tin foil and some water.
Clean them with tin foil and water with some salt added
Clean them with tin foil and water with some vinegar added
But maybe you have better suggestions

I've heard mention of using kitchen foil lubricated with Baking Soda or even WD 40.
Never had much success myself probably as the spokes were too far gone.

Clean and then spray with clear coat that's intended for direct to metal . Like Mipa CA

Strip wheel clean and replate spokes. If above methods fail to satisfy. Although like Ash’s suggestion.

If i have had any good spokes that were not pitted. I would send them for plating in BZP with a clear coat and many of them come back like new ;)
I would also have the nipples done to the original passivate yellow that look like gold .

I has the spokes on my 750 K2 re BZP'd and the nipples re yellow passivated as they were originally, the wheels looked lovely. Not too blingy, just right.
