If i remember that episode correctly. The car hadn't run since Adam was a lad.
So they towed it to a local garage, fitted a new battery. Started right up.
Scripted rubbish.

I would recommend. Soda blasting. Far less chance of disaster.

Apply a little rubber grease. Then they just slide on.
They are stronger than they look.

Hello.
I recommissioned my Sloper last weekend, after being stored for a couple of years.
What a great fun bike to ride. Really gets a move on when in top gear.
Great little bike that just revs & revs.
Sean.

Misc / Open / Re: LED H4 replacement bulbs experiences anyone.
« on: March 16, 2022, 05:53:30 PM »
I use a Led H4 bulb from dynamo & regulator conversations. In my 750k1.
Absolutely fantastic light. I actually look forward to night riding. Where I'd dread it before.
I also have them in my Rd400, Tdr250, 250 Motorsport. All with excellent results. I bought some cheap Led H4 bulbs for my van, off ebay.
They were so bad, they were downright dangerous!
There are massive variations in quality. Buyer beware.
Buy cheap. Buy twice.
Sean.

Pattern exhausts do exist. A mate bought a full set a few months ago.
Just cant remember where from at the moment. UK supplier too.

I'd like to think you are right. But what has been put in, can be pulled back out. And houses etc built on the site.

In response to Oddjob.
My concern is. When everything is electric. What would be the point of fuel stations?
Who would be willing to produce petrol, for such a niche market?
Would we have to go back to the beginning, and go to the Chemist,s,
For a gallon of "Motoring Spirit"? And at what price?
Sean.

Anyone who shows any interest in Electric bikes.
Is not a true motorcyclist/biker etc.
Personally. I rather shove Wasps up my arse!

They stopped issuing nova certificates at least 5 years ago.
The frame number is on HMRC data base. As duty paid.

I wouldn't use a modern day Marving. They rust terribly.
And they are completely different to the original.
I have an original Marving on my 750k1. But the 750,s never sound as good as the 500/550.

I see you have a 550f. They sound fantastic with the original 70,s Marving
4 into 1 pipe & Bell mouths.

Its a shitty shed. Full of shit!
Its an eclectic mix of bikes i have stumbled across & restored, over the last
30yrs. There is no common thread to it. Hondas, suz, yam, even a Kawasaki.

Hello Chaps.
Firstly. Thanks to bryan. I knew it had to be something to do with the dark art of carburetion.
Thank for the tales of youth on the po old XL.
Funny how the mid sized trailies always proved the best.
I've had the 185 engine for years. And just been given a barn find rolling k2 chassis. So if they go together. Thats good. But if not. I have a complete
Nos Cb125 engine still in its box. That i can use.
