I have to make some for my 175's
let me know how many you need and i'll do them at the same time.
(assuming you don't want them before Christmas)
Rich
Rich,
I think they use at least 6 + 2 spares say 8 in total .
I'm guessing you have a lathe.
Let me know how l can repay you. Once again sohc has an answer.
I can wait until you make some
In the new year is fine

Andrew

CB500/550 / Re: Timing
« on: November 24, 2016, 01:20:57 PM »
I  gave up on trying to get the timing correct and bought electronic ignition instead.

If you want to run and ride these bikes its the way to go.

20 minutes later ......Fit and forget.

I don't want to waste Saturday mornings doing points and timing life's too short.

Now I know why my side panels don't match the Tank.

I thought the side panels had faded but no I have a Candy Tank and Sunlight Panels.

More work for Menno When he gets the Paint Match correct for Sunlight Gold.

We use Allenchrome near York. 01759303788. allenchrome.co.uk. Good prices and a 2_3 week turnaround for zinc plating.

Agreed they are good and friendly to deal with BUT I advise you to strip and prep the parts yourself for best results. Best thing to remove the old zinc is to clrean with gunk or Jizer or similar then use  the 'Ashimoto' brew to strip the old plating as it is  does not use mineral acids and is very gentle on the base metal . PM me if you need details. Then , preferably bead blast or wire brush or alternative abrasion method, then de-grease in acetone. Home plating to me is just now for special parts that you don't want to let out of your mitts. Having said that Allenchrome did not lose a single tiny piece of the massive batch of parts I gave then over the last few months.
Hello Ash
Can you advise on removing the old plating method

CB500/550 / Re: Cb500 K0 Heavy throttle return spring
« on: February 02, 2016, 10:52:34 PM »
The one thing that annoys on the K0 is the heavy throttle return spring. Is there a fix for this?

Never found this spring too heavy.
Graham
The throttle on you K0 was much lighter than mine as I remember. I have fitted new cables
My K3 in comparison with the Pd carbs Has a return spring thats only a third of the length of the K0 spring.
It's not noticeably heavier than my 2 friends UK K1's
A lighter spring is what I need
Thanks
Andrew

CB500/550 / Re: CB 500 K0 Airbox seal
« on: April 19, 2015, 11:34:51 AM »
Thanks for all the replies
I asked D.S if the seal was part of the plenum
Chamber but they didn't know
I will find a second hand one.
If I have trouble finding one Then
I will post a wanted item here on the
Sohc forum.
When I swap my good one in the K3
I will take some dimensions and post-up
here.
Thanks
Andrew
