CB350/400 / YAMIYA 4 INTO 4 EXHAUSTS CB400/4
« on: May 29, 2019, 02:39:54 PM »
Anyone fancy a set of 4 into 4's for their CB400/4?. Yamiya are selling them off cheap because they are not selling and need to get rid of the stock. Work out about 1800 Euro.
Also, having read the description etc, I never knew the frame for the 398cc engine was different to the 408cc engine ....maybe just because of the rear foot pegs on the swing arm though, looking at the kit that comes with it.

Announcements / TRIGGERS LAST BIKE PURCHASE
« on: May 12, 2019, 03:05:20 PM »
We have just been across the other side of the country to pick up another bike Graham has bought. I thought he was taking me out somewhere nice for lunch, ha bloody ha, I should know better.
Graham says this is the last bike he will ever buy. I want to share this with you all so if he buys any more in the future, you lovely lot can help me remind him of what he has said.
Many may think it would be another classic Honda SOHC/4 to add to the beautiful collection we already have between us. But no.......its another bloody Honda CD250u. His favorite all time ever bike. He now has 4 of them one lives in Greece).

CB500/550 / NEED TO TALK ABOUT TANGS 😀😀
« on: April 08, 2019, 05:08:21 PM »
Hi Chaps.
Question.....on carb floats, should there be a dip in the tang or should the tang be straight?
I still have a pissy carb on the 550 so just going through all the usual diagnostics and was just wondering if the actual shape of the tang makes any difference to the float height?. I can't see how it would but thought I'd ask (him indoors is busy).
Photos of one of my tangs. CB550/4 F carbs.

Out & About / OUT AND ABOUT 2019
« on: February 15, 2019, 02:51:02 PM »
Well, the sun was shining, so that was it.....out for a ride on the Honda CD250u. This bike hadn't been started for 5 months, it still had last summers stale old fuel in the tank, pumped up the tyres, checked oil and she fired up 1st touch of the button and ran a dream. Almost 70 miles today, a bit nippy but beautiful in the sun up on the Wolds.

Misc / Open / SECURITY DEVICES FOR BIKES WITH SPOKED WHEELS
« on: February 07, 2019, 03:58:42 PM »
Does anyone have a good device or a good way of securing their bike?
I always put the steering lock on when I'm parked up away from home and I also carry a really thick chain with hefty padlock if i'm going to park up in a dodgy area, which I put through the wheel. I also chain it, through the wheel, to whatever bike Trig is riding if we are out on two bikes. I'm just wondering if anyone has found a small, compact device that can be used, instead of me carrying the chain that is so heavy, I think it could be used as an anchor chain on HMS Ark Royal  ;D ;D ;D
Thoughts and advice please
Ta

CB350/400 / Old wires !!!
« on: January 26, 2019, 03:34:00 PM »
Part of this winters fettling included removing the plastic tubing on the front of loom which had gone brittle and split. Disconnected all the wires in the head lamp and they were in good nick, all connectors clean and nice and tight. Unlatched the block connector that joins the wires from the loom to the ignition and the red wire has completely corroded through with no wire left in the spade at all. How my bike started, or didn't conk out going over a bump, I will never know. There must have been just enough contact between the tip of the wire and spade to allow it to work.
