Title: Hondamatic UK groups/forums
Post by: totty on September 28, 2010, 11:15:41 AM
Hi,

Does anyone know of any UK groups/clubs/forums for the Hondamatic, specifically the CB400AT ?

My dads just bought one that's on the road and it came with 90% of another in boxes that I'm thinking of building into a bobber.

Cheers

Allan

That was a bike that sold in such low numbers that i doubt there is anything specific, even the workshop manual is a totaly different one and not easy to find

My searches haven't turned up much, I've seen an article on a website that mentioned a UK owners club but I can't find them online, maybe they're no longer around. I also found a US forum but it only had 22 posts.
A manual came with the bikes so at least I don't have to try and track that down.
The main hens teeth part that I know I need is a stator.

Cheers

Why don't you try the Honda Owners Club?

Cheers, I should probably join them anyway since I seem to be collecting old Hondas at the min.

Do you mean the ignition charging stator, if so any 400 T or N will fit and run BUT NOT A 250 one

Yes it's the ignition stator. I've only just started looking into this so I don't have much detail but the previous owner said a T one will physically fit but doesn't work, something to do with 2 pickups one being used in each gear ratio. I've also seen several other mentions of this on the net and apparently both the stator and the CDI are speific to the A model, I'm not sure if I could swap them out as a pair for the T ones.
