I also think a tad expensive, Julie but I'm going to buy a set from Mauricio as he's offered to knock 20 Euros off the price.... you're right it's the closest to original and I understand CMS are selling them for a lot more..
Cheers for all the info folks 👍

Thanks folks, my tank has a plastic all in one shaped trim, I was just thinking of something more original looking but it looks like the steel clips could cause problems just like the original....At £100 it's debatable whether to go for it, but I'll look into the Italian Mold Studio...
What do you think of the quality,Julie
Cheers all

Hi folks
A while ago there was a post about a good reproduction of the original which DSS and someone on the continent used to supply but I can't find it on Search...can anyone help...
Cheers Hubert 🙂

A very good job you've made there on the 500/4 and the badges, Ted..

Likewise Ted , it's a big heave to get mine on the centre stand and since it's a keeper I'm going to try rolling the back wheel onto a ramped piece of wood...
It's easier getting my Wing on the centre stand 😁

I've stayed there a couple of times. Great hotel, probably the best whisky bar that I've ever seen. OK if your not riding!
It's on my list Gareth, Inveraray is quite central for a base....were you out on a ride when you stayed? Hubert

Looks great Hubert, Inverary again? Think that's where we met up with you on your CBX. I was on the 'Wing, David on his K100RT - happy times!
Ian
Hi Ian yes it's a favourite venue for a ride out, I've parked where it's quieter with a nice view across to Strachur...those were good days you're right must have been over ten years ago Hubert

Out today sunny spells and light rain so waterproofs on but a lovely ride on the 500/4. Really glad of all the help from you folks with my carbs, it's running really nicely now. This is from behind the George at Inveraray

I've just finished my paint work on the Laverda and the clear coat I have used is hmg nisocoat 2 which is a 2k clear non isocyanate and can do the job just as well from what the maker in Manchester tells me...it's mixed clear/hardener/thinners in 3/2/0.75 and dries hard in 24 hours at 20 degrees Celsius, fully cured in a week for polishing.... I'm told it's petrol proof when cured...
Only snag is you need a gun with a 1.4 to 1.8 nozzle

Cheers for that Ash, I'll get it rechromed by Prestige as I am very pleased with the quality and they stick to what they say timescales wise. Replacing with a pattern one is less desirable. The bikes very original and that will suit it well.

Thanks Ted, I'll go and have a look for the stamping...I'm probably going to get it rechromed at Prestige Plating eventually...
Cheers Hubert

I need a little help guys, I have a nos front rim to build the wheel up, but the rear wheel rim is slightly rusty and I need to get it rechromed or replaced so it would help to know the size.... 17 x Thanks Hubert

Welcome, you're now in the company of friendly like minded enthusiasts....I'm offshore alongside Oban but have been doing the run north for many years passing your way to Ullapool. Must do that soon and stop off at the Gairloch Hotel
