Booking is now open for those that fancy a free day out with their bikes at Crich.
This year, booking is all on line, instead of the old paper entry forms. There are limited numbers and there is no option to just turn up on the day on your bike for exhibition places , your place has to be booked in advance.
I will ask the organiser, Jon Lambley, to reserve us 12 places.
Here's the link.

Myself and Graham booked.

Doubtful I'll be there. 500 nowhere near ready yet. Might be later this year or might be done before July. It's coming on but it's very slow.

the bike doesn't have to be concours,
mine is a used hack
just get it ride able,
and visit

It's in thousands of bit ATM John, the frame hasn't even been done yet. When it does start to go together progress should be swift as most of the other parts are done or mostly done. Not started the engine yet, but that's the fastest part to do IMO.

Shame - you could turn up on that Beast you bought last year can't remember the model looked like something off "Chips"
-
Didn't go last year Ted. Not been for quite a few years now.
-
Not many spaces left available for Crich this year, so if you're still planning to book, don't leave it much longer. Don't forget, unlike past years, you can't just rock up on the day as an exhibitor and get in, you must have pre booked.

I've had confirmation from Jon Lambley, that we are in the same place as last year, right down the far end by the tram stop.
-
In our usual place next weekend at the Town end.

The weather looks good up there John, very dull down here in London.
Has anyone tried to fit all those SOHC's into the tardis?
Enjoy the day 8)

A few more photos from a great day out.

I gave back my booking a few weeks ago due to my bad back - I intended to visit as a spectator - thought it was next Sunday so missed it!
-
Great day out, but I was on a Ducati so kept a low profile. Nice to see Julie and Graham though.

Was the 350 owned by forum member Julie? (think its a 350 not a 250 - can't make the side panel badge from the picture).
-
Yes John, if you mean the gold / white twin, it's a 350, it's owned by John (Hondarc166 on the forum) from Swadlincote, he usually comes on his yellow 400/4, I think you spent some time talking to him.

Senior moment Julie! It was me that asked!
(it looks red or orange in the picture) - nice bike

Bloody hell, so it was Phil, yes a senior moment indeed. Same answer as I gave before but you obviously didn't spend time taking to John 😂😂😂😂

John's 350 is an original colour,
Look at the headlamp ears, and fork shrouds for an idea of the correct colour,
The tank and side panels are nicely faded by the sun,
It does look good

Phil, it's red, not yellow 😂😂😂😂. I'm going to give up on today and go to bed, too many senior moments occurring 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's a cracker of a bike, a real survivor with beautiful patina.

Know the senior moment thing well!Think its a K1 (pinstripe on tank?) although Ash will probably confirm - should start the engine re-assembly on my 350K0 this week

That bike is a CB350K2 import as the 350 was never sold in here in the UK until the K4 model, which was only sold in candy green here. Another giveaway are the mudguards, which are the USA style. I have a genuine UK CB250K2 which was only sold here in one colour scheme .... Candy Custom Gold/White.

How many of us SOHC types turned up Sunday??
-
it is a 1970k2 as ash pointed out good day out nice to see julie & graham & john looking at the photos i think i need to go on a diet

In total, there were 11 CB SOHC/4's exhibiting at the show. Forum members were John (on his 350 twin) , John on his 500/4 K1, Trig on his 750 K6, myself on my 500 K1. Gary turned up on his Ducati ans Si came in his car.

After the the CB350K2 for one year only Honda did the K3 model (and 250 version in the UK in Candy Gold only). On the USA 350K3 they ditched the silver base-coat on the Candy Ruby Red and used white base-coat with Candy Ruby Red. Ben Powell is painting his 71 K3 import in this scheme and it looks stunning. If anyone says Honda never did this, well I am sorry to disagree but you are 100% wrong.

I have just finished painting side panels, fork shrouds and headlight cowl, picture of one of the panels below, chuffed to say the least.
Looks like a good turn out at Crich, might make it there myself next year😁

Nice meeting up with everyone over the weekend and ending up with a dry ride home .
-
Saw a couple of old brit bikes that i have never heard of or have seen before. They were Martinsyde which have a very nice bit of history building British aircraft .
-
The Martinsydes.

Rick Parkington of Classic Bike has a Martinsyde. He compiled a series of articles covering his restoration of the bike. I know he had to have a new crankcase cast for it. Great articles to read.
