I did this job on my 550K3 at the weekend. It's fairly easy to drill out and pull the rivet as shown in the link Tom posted, you just need to drill wide and deep enough to release the 5 lock pins.

This is the replacement lock I used http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380804531314

ok so to recap

pull out pin with claw hammer

drill the lock ( key entrance ) with 12mm drill bit ( deep wise 20mm?)

I have not got a key so will it just turn with screwdriver after I have drilled the key part ?

pull out pin with claw hammer
Cut the paint around it first so it won't lift any surrounding paint - I also levered it out with a screwdriver but the hammer may be easier.

drill the lock ( key entrance ) with 12mm drill bit ( deep wise 20mm?)
Depth isn't critical, either till all 5 pins drop out or you hit the steel part. 12mm is overkill, I used 9mm, but you only need to go big enough to release the lock pins.

I have not got a key so will it just turn with screwdriver after I have drilled the key part ?
Yes, the pins that the key operates will fall out and the barrel can then be turned freely.

no sign of a key number stamped on the barrel Mike ? .... new keys can be had for about £7 if you have the number

Nobody anywhere i have found can supply the Neiman Keys for the lock like Mike has. Used to be a regular job back in the day to drill out and fit new

reference to this rivet

which part of it comes out ....just the rivet part and then the disc behind or does it come out as complete part

The rivet goes through the hole in the disc (just an odd sized washer really) and into the steel of the frame so if you pull on the washer the rivet will come out and/or if you pull out the rivet the washer will fall off

In my case the washer overhangs the lock mounting, giving you some of its surface behind to lever against. Pretty difficult to get under the rivet head. The two parts then come out together.

You may need to keep the rivet and washer, the rivet that came with mine was smaller.
The spring must go with the end that is more tightly wound pushed onto the lock or it jams. You have to insert it with the key turned, but that will be obvious when you try it.

If you get the genuine part it comes with no spring and no rivet so you have to reuse these.
