I’ve started getting ads on my TapaTalk feed this morning. It is intensely irritating (to me anyway).
Is anybody else getting them?

Been getting them for about 18 months, you just start reading something and they pop up irritatingly. I refuse to pay for ad free V.I.P. status though!

If nobody is bothered I'll leave them.
They want $10/month to stop adverts from Tapatalk + I assume you would have to sign-up for the paid app (?)
When it first came out it was a paid app (very unusual back then) and I paid IIRC $2.49 one-off.
Several years later they unilaterally made it free (but I didn't get a refund), then they introduced a paid tier but didn't invite those of use who had paid originally... You getting the drift here?

My Tapatalk VIP account costs me £0.77p per month and I get zero adverts. I signed up through Google Play. That lifetime thing is a very common issue Steve. I have been stung a few times with a major software upgrade that seams to mean the older versions life is at an end. But who decides what the lifetime of software is. Scandal.

Gave in and bought the special offer one year for £4.99
I guess in relation to my Sky/Netflix/Prime etc that’s a reasonable price.
A pint of beer (when the pubs open)

Cheap as chips Steve. Worth a fiver to get rid of the blooming ads. They have become so obtrusive they stop the app being usable.

Agree.
They appeared for me on the 8th so have given up after only three days.
I know how much effort is required to maintain an app in the Apple and Google stores so do t really begrudge them the money. I was just the incessant bullying/begging that pissed me off.

If you're using Tapatalk you must be using a mobile. I threw mine in the river Thames and my life has been better ever since ;D

It would appear that Tapatalk has 2.5 million active monthly VIP users (unverified google search). Now if they all paid a fiver a year (some more) that's 12.5 million pounds a year, plus advertising for the free version people. Now I have no idea what an app like that takes to develop and maintain, but it ain't that much.
