My shockers have a chromed shield on the top section - not sure if they are original or have been replaced in the past mine is a 1978(S) plated version.
I had a pair like that on mine when I first got her, but like many other parts they needed changing. This her from the we-sell-classic-bikes site. They are not original no, but if you like them you can get a pair on Ebay. Don't like them myself.

If they keep pushing me, I'm gonna buy a KH750, paint it flourescent green, and ride it round Westrminster until the plugs foul. Every day. With expansion pipes on. Dripping unburnt hydrocarbons and leaving clouds of blue smoke.
Good, you can take over from me if you like. I'm a regular around Parliament square, that top hatted twit Steve Bray knows and hates me!

Much it seems is being made of the fact that today my special oil for evil ancient petrol burning classic motorcycles from the era of unlimited pollution will be delivered to me on an electric vehicle. Are they trying to tell me something?

Are you sure the source of this leak isn't actually the seal for the oil pump housing? I'm about to have mine replaced also, it was missing from the seal kit I got for a recent rebuild. Maybe it is a semi-orphaned thing?

Is Simoniz Engine Enamel considered the best paint to get?

I don't want the cylinder liners to move while in the oven...on the K7 the head is bolted to the cylinders with M6 bolts and I was going to do that and place it right way up in the oven...so the tops of the liners are against the cylinder head...
Would that work folks or is there a better way?
Hubert
Surely this is the very hottest part of the engine and as such a few hours of riding might do the job okay?

Didn't the Yamaha EXUP have a similar system at one time?
Just took a look at one on the web. Those two round intakes with tubes...... I remember one at Boxhill ( Biker haunt ) someone asked the owner 'now what does this do apart from making the fairing hard to take off'?
