To be honest, unless you want to race or do high mileages i dont see the point(sic) in shelling out good money on electronics when the contact sets are as reliable as they are---yes they do need maintainence but they also rarely go totaly tits up and strand you in the middle of nowhere and yes i agree getting the gap and timing spot on can be a nause if you dont do the job regularly and have a good "feel" for using gauges but then practice makes perfect and you have to have a strobe to set the electronics which you dont need for the standard set up.

I'm guessing lots of folks will shout me down on this but i do low miles and live with the contact set up!

One problem you may have is the MOT as officially it has to be as quiet as a standard bike with an exhaust in good order, and that one looks a bit "open" to me. Does depend on your relationship with the tester tho' as some say that VOSA are way too strict and some stick to the letter of the law

No mate, not yet but someone has recently started doing 350 four ones so there is a dim glimmer of hope, I think the only thing stopping you putting the early "trumpet" type on is the exhaust brackets to frame, several years ago, much to my now dismay, i fitted a set of 77/78 pipes to a US 75 550 K2 and had to cut and shut the rear brake pedal to clear the exhaust so going the other way ought to work. Should you wish to come all the way over here i have 2 sets, one ofwhich you can trial fit but not buy if you wish

Problem is Honda dont make that system any more (nor anybody else) dont think you can get baffles either, silly thing is you can get the older 500 system for less than that NEW from Dave Silver

Built in 75 would be a 76 model so K6, I have the US ID book if you want to post the engine/frame numbers.
For parts try www.ebay.com as thats the US site, most sellers will ship to UK if asked BUT the american post office only does airmail now so it can be a bit expensive, or try posting on our sister site www.sohc4.net they are a good bunch and helpful
