Easy one first ... no dimples for the handlebars so as thought they aren't correct .... will try and source some and change

As this is an import is it correct for the front indicators to be on as driving type lights when running - also is the indicator buzzer a correct feature ?

Afternoon

Finally got hold of the bike and overall it looks ok and usable .......

There are a few bits need doing immediately - some maybe beyond me :)

Choke cable is broken at the fitting
Oil leak - see last pic - any ideas welcome ..... it does seem to be the only place leaking any fluids

Running wise is a little rough - mainly at the higher rev band but wondering if it needs a couple runs / fresh fuel running through .... so will try that before more drastic action

Throttle seems "tight" so doesn't snap back when you let go - more investigation required .... no air leaks from carbs etc

RHS top silencer isn't the best with the baffle either missing or disintegrated

Bars seem wrong ...

So some work to clean it up and try and do what bits I can .... will update with progress

Thanks

Simon

I like AGV's, they fit my head and are always quiet. Unlike my Shoei that is as noisy as hell. I bought an Arai chaser a couple of years ago, it fits well but not as quiet as the AGV by any stretch. AGV's always seem to be on the larger side, I'm a 54cm on AGV's but 56 on Shoei and Arai.

Cheers - fingers crossed that my head may well indeed squeeze in it !!

I don’t like the seat belt type straps on AGV’s assuming they still only do them, prefer the D rings.
I used to like/buy Shark helmets but don’t like them for same reason.I sent the last AGV away to be “inspected” on warranty and bought a cheap Shark to wear.

I think it has the standard D ring fastener .... managed to order an XL in black / white using the ebay 10% off code and an offer to the seller meant it came in at £229 ...... also can return if it doesn't fit so thought worth a punt

Will report back :)

Morning

Wanting to change my helmet and am looking at the XGV X3000 which can be had for a decent price online if you search around

Wondered if anyone has experience of owning one and their thoughts ?

Also sizing ...... I'm an XL in Shoei J Lo but can be XXL in some makes due to my large oval head !! so if anyone happens to have had both - details on if sizing is comparable would be good

Thanks

Misc / Open / Re: New E10 petrol no good for older bikes
« on: March 16, 2020, 01:36:21 PM »
Had a look at that last week and the relevant pump was clearly marked E5 so will have to buy a gallon and test it for myself.

Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk

Apparently the  E5 sticker on the Synergy Supreme+ petrol pumps was introduced to ensure Esso complies with the Government's standards on labelling of fuel labelling – see https://knowyourfuel.campaign.gov.uk/. The E5 label means the fuel could contain up to 5% renewables such as ethanol but the Esso 97 doesn't .

You lot probably already know this but Esso Supreme + 97 RON is ethanol free and likely to remain so for the foreseeable ...

This is directly from the Esso website................

What is the ethanol content of your fuels?

The majority of unleaded 95 Octane petrol sold in the UK contains up to 5% ethanol as required under the Government’s Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation (RTFO).

There is currently no requirement for renewable fuel (such as ethanol) to be present in super unleaded (97 grade petrol).

Esso super unleaded petrol (Synergy Supreme+ Unleaded 97) is ethanol free (except in Devon, Cornwall, the Teesside area and Scotland). We would therefore advise anyone who has concerns about the presence of ethanol in petrol to use Synergy Supreme+ – providing they do not fill up in Devon or Cornwall, the Teesside area or Scotland.

Also you will still see that the pumps have the E5 sticker on them ....

Esso customer care advise that although the pump has an E5 sticker the fuel does not contain any Ethanol and they do not have any plans to introduce Ethanol to Supreme + 97 RON.
The E5 stickers comes from the government requirements for 5% Ethanol in standard fuel but it does not apply to Supreme + 97 RON

Thanks

Simon
