Title: Restoration or something shite
Post by: Trigger on October 17, 2020, 06:08:40 PM
I have always said, that there is restoration and then there is restoration  ??? If someone is going to restore a bike to original condition it, should look like a original bike. And of some weird reason this seller thinks he has done a top job.

I came across this heap while keeping me eye out for very rare CD250 parts which for some strange reason i like to collect  ;)

As someone once said : ' Beauty is in the eye of the beholder' well this beholder doesn't have an eye for that piece of c**p.

My mum always said to me "If you can't think of anything nice to say, then don't"

I like the tassels.

You like the Tassles.....shame...the notes say they are NOT included :)

Well...It's a lovely ...er....thing...er....no. Actually...it's horrid. Ugly engine bars, wrong tank, mudguard doesn't look like it should be on this bike, and it just looks like an odd mish-mash.
It's great that the owner has a high opinion of it ..... but I always worry when it takes the owner his engineer friend and a welding outfit 3 goes to make arear  brake lever to fit with the Motad, when it would have been easier to just get the RIGHT EXHAUST and use the proper pedal. Oh well. What do I know :)  Still he clearly is a knowledgable chap as he knows the right way to set camchain tension when Honda doesn't....

Still..it's got that thicker and far better fuel tank on...which is great. Would be even better if it actually fitted though.

The man is a dummy, or he is looking for a dummy.  I would certainly put a bit of elbow grease on it.

Its amazing that the good one doesn't sell, but the 'heap of the week' sells for £800. I always remember a stamp dealer many moons ago telling me that people buy rubbish.

I think a deal must have been made off eBay because I've been watching that bike and it had five days still to go this morning.
