Always baffles me that when someone is asking 15k for something why they don't write a detailed description of the item not just a one liner

CB500/550 / Re: Twin disc conversation master cylinder bore?
« on: August 27, 2018, 07:56:42 PM »
Thanks for the comments.
I’d be ok using anything that works well tbh (GL, CB, whatever). I’m just a bit confused on the bore size situation. Is there a simple rule of thumb like “the larger the bore, the less grip force required (or visa Verda)?
There’s so much choice out there from cheep (£20 & even less) units that have surely got to be made of cheese, to ridiculous (£hundreds) & from onboard reservoirs to “remote” styles. The bike’s a mixture of all sorts of parts & is planned as a brat/cafe so anything goes really. I’m just trying to understand what exactly I’m looking for to give me decent performance. I’ll not be blasting around the N.Yorks moors wearing out knee sliders at every opportunity but equally, i’d like to know i’ve got some effective anchors if/when needed.
This is what I use , one brake line coming from M/S then into splitter to the two calipers , works really well plenty of braking power

Two four seat, ace bars, four into one pipe.....and the same tank with maybe a new paint job.... would look cool i reckon

Definitely going to be doing the 4-into-1 pipe!

I've been looking at the Yoshimura style one from Carpy's Cafe Racers http://carpyscaferacers.com/shop/shop-our-store/motorcycle-parts-accessories/honda-cb500-cb550-cb750-parts-upgrades/cb750-4-into-1-exhaust-sohc/ - does anyone have any thoughts on this or know if anywhere in the UK I can get something similar for the same price (around £600 delivered)?
Hi , I've got the 4into1 from Carpys fitted perfect tbh , I've had it ceramic coated inside and out in satin black , sounds ace

Nice special! A video of that pipe would be nice  ;)
I tried it with the supplied baffle but it made no difference, not super loud but loud enough

Is your number plate mounted to the swing arm?
Aye to the spindle , I got the idea from a Ducati I seen with a similar setup

I bet it looks interesting on a bumpy road. :)
It's very rigid hardly moves apparently I can't see it when I'm riding it

Wheels done by central wheels, genuine Honda parts used where I could from DS and CSML, finned billet engine covers from Joker Machine, Yoshi rep 4into1 by Carpys , paint done by Bob Falconer custom paint ,

Wasn't going to use the "Mad Max"wasp fairing but I'm glad I did

Carbs rebuilt and running really sweet with the K&N pods which is a boost fitted electronic ignition too so it's starting and running really smooth

Not everyone's cup of tea but I like to be different

Hi Ewan the bikes looking good so far well done !!

Have you tried the kickstart to make sure it clears everything ?? I fitted the tarozzi rearsets to my 750 and it hits the brake pedal I think I might have to heat it and bend it so it clears, yours may be different though !!

Cheers

Hi,

I had the same problem so I used a Stanley blade to carefully cut around the bolt then carefully back out the bolt I think this helps because if you just back off the bolt the PC will crack,

I don't bother any more with plugging the holes with old bolts I just tap the holes out afterwards ,

Cheers Stu
