Recommended Sources for Parts and Services / Restorers
« on: October 01, 2020, 10:39:49 PM »
Hi all hoping someone can point me in the right direction?

A couple of years ago I fell into the trap of buying a K6 750 on impulse on eBay as always fancied one . On getting it home and delving deeper I started to find a few issues as you do with elderly vehicles.

This is where common sense should have prevailed and at that point I should have sent it job lot to a restorer and had all the issues sorted one by one. My mistake was to convince myself I was up to the job of stripping the motor, having the cases repainted and rebuilding it to its former glory.

As I knew would happen I have stalled on the rebuild due to family commitments, lack of time and not having the confidence to undertake the rebuild project.

I do want to ride this bike again so finally I have decided that I just put my hand in my pocket and get it sorted for next summer. So long story short is can anyone recommend suitable people who know these engines, and would be willing to take a basket case on and restore it back to road going condition??

I am based in the north west of England, and can wait for the right person to undertake the work if they are out there?

Thanks for any assistance?

John

CB750 / K6 Swingarm Pivot Rod
« on: March 06, 2019, 01:42:56 PM »
Hi all,

Hopefully one of you very knowledgeable types can assist me on this new problem??

I have a K6 750 which I've had the frame powder coated. Ive fitted new bronze bushes which have flanges which were same size as the ones that came out. I also scraped back to metal where the flanges sit so not riding high on powdercoat Once I inserted the pivot shaft I noticed that the pivot shaft does not protrude from either side of the new bushes slightly so that when the dust caps are fitted and its all tightened up in the frame it binds. It was like this when it came apart and as far as I can see its missing no parts so can only presume the shaft is slightly too short?

Has anyone any idea what length this shaft should be, and if I need to buy a new one where from as CMS out of stock and cannot see on DSS?

Also don't want to buy a new one if its just the same as the one I have?

Any assistance would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
John.

Has anyone bought a set and if so were they as good as they look??

John.

CB750 / Exhaust Studs
« on: February 09, 2019, 10:25:04 PM »
I’m new to all things CB so hopefully this ain’t deemed a stupid question?

I have a 750 K6 which has a loose exhaust stud on one of the cylinders. My question for anyone with any experience of this is, is helicoil suitable repair and if so can it be done in situ?? Also if when I get bike in bits more than one thread needs sorting can any or all of the eight be repaired with the head in place? Also any tips on threading or stud replacement??

Many thanks in advance for any replys.

New Member Introductions / Another new one
« on: October 25, 2018, 07:07:28 PM »
Hi all,

New to this forum and all things Honda.

After a very long lay off from road riding I’ve returned with the purchase of a K6 750. Original unmolested model with a few little running problems to sort before I hit the road again soon.

I will be seeking answers to my questions in the near future.

Cheers,
John.
