My room-mate at Uni had a yellow F1 - it was a great bike.

If it is not taxed or SORNed now then they don't know about it.

Once taxed or SORNed you will have to insure them - all my SORNed bikes are insured anyway (what if the barn burned down?).

37bhp vs 50bhp.

You'd lose the agility of the 400 by using the larger rolling chassis.

Still, as they say, you can fit anything to anything with a bit of fabrication!

That Tony Foale 500 was just a picture that I found on the internet...

However, here's a picture of my Dresda CB750 (for sale to the right enthusiast!)

It looks lioke a CMA alloy but I don't think I've ever seen a six-spoke version.

This Tony Foale 500/4 shows the normal setup

For in-depth discussion on all the options (and loads of people who have actually done it), go to the US site and look at the Performance section:

My 550F2 left this morning for sunny Peterborough.

It was running a bit rough so watch out for the "looks good but came last" feature...

I've just checked on mine and Steve (Florence) is correct.

If yours is the other way round the movement of the front brake caliper must be compromised (?)

You are probably right Steve. All three of my 500s are called "2 Wheel Motorcycle" on the V5

The red plastic bit or the whole thing?

The guys in the US have been trying to persuade Yamiya to re-manufacture them.
