Title: DS pattern exhausts.
Post by: Fenderfreak on October 19, 2019, 08:02:50 PM
Anyone had a problem with the DS pattern silencers for the CB250k3?

Mine seem about 5mm too long in that when mated to the down pipes the mounting holes are 5mm further back than they should be and can not get the mounting bolts in.

They are pushed on as far as they can be onto the down pipes, so may have to trim a little off at the connector end.

Any ideas

Maybe you need to cut 5mm more off the downpipe, as the original exhausts were one unit, not a separate silencer.

The down pipes have a collect manufactured on the end where the silencer butts up to so would have to trim the silencer. ☹️

Not good copies I steer clear of them from DS ... Got some made specially by Brituro (who make them for DS) without all of the nasty DS features (e.g. like massive seams and dodgy welds).. Keeping them as my last reserve but gradually gathering enough genuine for my own bikes (got a lovely -317 (K3) from Dave Silvers bargain bin yesterday ... knocked the guy down to £25  ;D) . I was going to weld my Brituro to the downpipes ...... like on the '68/early 69's so bought them unchromed.

Guess you will just have to tweak the length a bit John ... but why the hell can't they get a simple dimension correct baffles ( ;D ;D) me.
