Title: .....and it comes out here!
Post by: Orcade-Ian on September 03, 2017, 06:10:58 PM
Apologies to those who don't know the lyrics to 'The music goes round and round' but does anyone have a simpletons guide to blowing through all orifices on 350/4 and 400/4 carbs to ensure that there are no blockages anywhere?  Randakk in the U.S. has a guide for GL1000 of the type that says' cover hole A and inject air into hole B and it should come out of hole C. (hence the daft title)
I have cleaned them ultrasonically myself but this set have always been a bit of a bugger on any bike I've tried them on.  I have four kits to fit from Cruzinimage and home made float bowl level adapters so that I can check levels on the bench.  I was thinking of using Redex to dye the fuel in the tubes up the sides of the chambers - does anyone know if that harms these new type seals in any way?
Glad to have your thoughts as always,
Surely these bikes used to start 'on the button' and tick over evenly when new - so why do I have to coax the damn things into life on progressively more cylinders - perhaps it's this bioshite fuel these days?

I have used Cochineal food colouring in the past in one of my old BSA's to identify a problem. Didn't seem to do any harm.

Hey Ian. Make sure you haven't lost a brass blanking ball as I did. Thread on here somewhere.
