Hi

I've taken mine off to get them sorted but getting them off and out was quite a struggle. What methods do the learned members suggest as the best way to refit them?

Cheers, Bob

It isn't clear if the mounting points are missing from your grab rail but I fixed my indicators on with a couple of penny washers.

Of course TV programs cheat...would you really want to watch 40 minutes of Sam grinding valves or Edd sanding a car body for ready painting? After all the programs are only made in the hope you'll buy some product that's advertised so you do need to keep your audience watching. ;D

This is what happens when entertainment gets confused with reality! Even if they do cheat over timescales etc., it's good to see that there are still folks around with genuine skills. :D

There are mechanical drives on the market that change KPH to MPH so maybe there are some that do the reverse?

I've just spent an hour getting the carbs off because of a fuel leak and it needs fixing. Not quite as easy as I hoped because of the standard air filter box which may explain why so many bike seem to have an alternative option fitted. My question is, once I have sorted the leak would it be it worth using individual pod filters or velocity stacks? I realise the jetting would need to be altered but would that just be an styling exercise and more expense for nothing?  :-\ Cheers, Bob

Would this be the same method for adjusting the CB500 cam chain? The newer? Haynes book seems a bit short on this info! :o

I find smear of Coppaslip or similar on the threads when refitting plugs helps reduce the chance of thread problems, as does not over tightening. ;)

That can be done with a well greased tap, or you could try cutting some vertical slots in an old spark plug and try to reform the damaged section yourself. Plugs are best fitted by hand to start with so there's less chance of cross threading.
