CB750 / Continental rb2's - anyone tries these?
« on: September 07, 2013, 02:39:36 PM »
Hi guys - after some advice here...for fittment to a '73 750 k3

Honda CB 750 K -'76 Front & Rear Tyre Continental RB 2

http://bit.ly/157WYh2

I generally use avon safety mileage or road runners on my 550/750 Hondas, but spotted these and seem good value to me. I also like the tread pattern which (aesthetically) seems to be a good compromise.

Most importantly, has anyone here had experience of using these on theirs?

CB750 / Repro F0/F1/ K7 & A caliper bodies
« on: September 07, 2013, 02:36:07 PM »
I'm with hairygit on this one. I can't vouch for the other dss repro parts, but the braking Items I've received and used on several bikes have been spot on. The only exception I've had was with one of the repro caliper bodies which had a critical drilling missing - must have been a mfg fault although all other machined features seemed to be to a very high standard.

Completely agree with Mick, definitely think you should have a go to get that out Pete. When do you think you might have the K0 completed?

compress the photos first ... save them .. and then try posting ? Microsoft Office Picture Manager can compress them via the Edit Pictures tab
Worth downloading Google Picasa (free) - great for exporting photos at good quality / low file size.

Paul - stupid question but have you tried boiling it in water? Then loosen the main locknut on the horn diaphragm and refit and see if you can get it to work. I've reassurected several horns in this way.

Have to agree that the advent of eBay had been a bit of a game changer with regard to things being exposed to a wide audience and finding their true 'value'. I sold a non-running but very original Suzuki GT550j earlier this year (quite a niche bike) for a lot more than I was expecting. The buyer was delighted  so I guess eBay works well for sellers - but you're right, if you look hard / get lucky you do find some gems.

Thanks Tom. Appreciate that - yeah I've joined the owners club and purchased both DVD's so may well have a go myself. Just not used to working on British stuff, so will need to invest in some imperial tools and I know the 20M3 commando engine requires a few special tools. I'll drop you a line when I know which direction I'm going in. Cheers, James.

Hey Tom, do you know Mick Hemmings well?
I've got a '71 commando engine and gearbox that I need restoring and wondered if he's still taking on this type of work..? Hope you're enjoying the Brown 550...J
