If you have greased, or lubed inj any way, Original Honda cables you make them worse as both the inner and outer have linings which swell up and make them stiff

The only ones I ever tested in reverse were some of the smaller ones used to show wear in the suspension if you put the brake on and pulled backwards. To me if the wheel spins free and the brake meats efficiency its a pass

If that nut is spinning your cam chain tensioner is not working and bad wear results, usually caused by a previous numpty using a screwdriver in the slot to try and force the tensioner to work---its only there to position the tensioner on rebuild.
Sometimes the tensioner mechanism can be fixed as long as the teeth are not broken

I think the Headlamp works direct from a coil in the generator, yes a bad earth will reduce power on anything but so will a corroded power connector or switch or even a bad generator, these magnets are getting old, just like most of us now

Don't remember voltages but seem to remember the buggers wouldn't flash unless the engine was running

From experience with several K3's ANY tickover is a perfect tickover and first thing is have you removed and cleaned to perfection the press in pilot jets inside the last 8 weeks, if its stood longer than that do them again

It has been disused on the US forum that the hole for the peg in the crank can wear oval by people turning the engine with the big nut and/or the unit not being tight. The crank is not hardened at that point so it is feasible to drill out the hole larger and fit a small bush to take out the play.
If leaving it as is it would be advisable to set tdc on 1 & 4 with a stop in the plug then make sure the T mark is aligned before tightening the bolt
