Title: Spark Plugs.
Post by: Dave M on January 17, 2008, 08:15:57 PM
Hi Again.

My CB550 is fitted with the standard KGK resistor plug caps but a previous owner has also fitted resistor spark plugs which I thought weren't necessary if the resistor caps were fitted.

The bike runs fine and the plugs are a loverly colour but I'm planning to replace them when I service it soon.

I can get NGK DR7Es plugs quite easily and cheaply but the D7ES's seem a little scarce so will I be OK fitting the resistor plugs again?

My gut feeling is yes but I thought I'd check with our experts.

TIA.

I've always used both resistor plugs and caps as they are easier to source (you might say that it's the path of least resistance...)

Never had a problem.
