If the needle jets are worn,it's likely to make it to rich,

Try dropping the needle by one groove, see what happens

I assume you have the standard air box and filter?

Where are the bikes, John?
Look between the gazebo and the pub,

The car park is full of them,

It looked so nice in the sun, I was to lazy to get up and get more pictures of the bikes

Do you insert the pads dry?

I put some high melting point grease around the pads,

See what happens

Obviously take care to keep away from the pads surface

Does it seem to run lean?

White plugs,

What about R type plugs and resister plugs caps, are you running both?

I believe if it is a rebuilt motor, the sooner you can load the piston rings, the better

CB350/400 / Re: Clutch siezed
« on: August 31, 2024, 04:54:22 PM »
Could it be an issue with the clutch operating mechanism in the housing rather than the plates sticking ?

The 400 has that odd triangular plate with the three ball bearings in - DS now does a replacement unit.
My 500 has a wormthread, not to bad, the 200 has the 3 balls, works beautifully, light as a feather

The 500 does stick a bit, needs freeing, the 200 never, both use the same oil

I changed the oil to 10W40 mineral oil.  Made no difference.  I've adjusted the clutch lever free play from spec to virtually none to ensure the clutch is fully disengaged when the lever is pulled but there is no difference regardless of setting.
How long since you last rode it?

Did you try to free it up before you started it?

It does need doing if left longer than a few days,

You could get a strap, or cable, and tie around the clutch lever and  handle bar, hold the clutch open while parked unused

on the 500,the pivot is handed, but if I remember its only for the adjuster screw, when I fitted my 2nd disc I simply use a countersink drill bit to modify the arm,so the screw head would fit

Probably not the barrel, but the contacts at the end,

I know the 500 ignition switch can be dismantled,

Give it a go
