Title: Good cheap fenders from Europe?
Post by: alexdecker on July 30, 2022, 12:15:14 PM
Hey

Trying to source a front and rear fender for my 550F2. It doesn’t have to be original, but don’t wanna stray too much from the OEM look. I am doing a resto mod.

Any good ideas? Same goes for taillights for the rear fender.

Tail lights? or tail light brackets?

USA and some markets got chrome brackets, UK and Europe got black IIRC.

Same goes for rear mudguards, USA got 3 hole mudguards, UK and Europe got 4 hole ones.

UK model. Looking for a new complete rear fender setup, as my original one is really beat up. Same with front fender. Can’t seem to find any good European suppliers though!

It would depend on how much you want to pay Alex.

I have a NOS 3 hole rear guard with a good chrome 3 hole bracket, and some really decent 4 hole guards.

Can you send me some pics of both those and maybe also of the fuse box? Maybe this could be a collected thing. I seem to remember us talking about some other stuff as well. Need to look back through the forums.

You don’t have to have a spare protector for the left cover lying around? (The piece of metal that bolts in the inside of the cover)

Sorry, I mean the clutch cover. It has a chain protector on the inside and a washer tongue. Mine split in half.

Clutch cover doesn't have a chain protector in it Alex, the chain case does. Left hand side of the engine.

Can you see if you can find the part numbers of the parts you're looking for. I've just bought a couple of 550 engines, one had a chain case with it. Both had clutch covers.

Aw sorry, keep messing up the terminology! It's part 2 on the attached and have part number 11353363000.

Quite a rare part to find that Alex, especially in one piece. They get smashed when the chain breaks or even if the chain is excessively loose. I'll see what I can find.

If you have the two halves and can't find one, take them to a local engineering company who will make you one, I'm sure.
