Suggestions please?

Sorry, should have said -frame stripped bare!
Just cannot get any purchase on spring to remove.
Tried forcing large screwdriver method, tang just looks to me like its going to bend. Thanks again.

Push the stand bar out ;)

I’ve used 2p coins before to slot between the coils when open, and then as the stand closes the coins keep the spring long and enough slack to take the spring off.

I use a piece of paracord (like the string on blinds) I make it into a loop , hook it over the spring , put my foot in the bottom of the loop and push down with my foot to stretch the spring it is especially good for putting the spring on you just then cut the string and pull it out.

Before I bought a spring puller tool I used a length of wire tied into a loop with one end on the spring and the other looped around a hammer handle.

2 pence pcs worked Tks for suggestion

Now that's a clever idea. Love it.

You can also put strong springs on that way too, just bend it in an arc to open the coils then put coins in. Do it alternately adding a coin each side as you go and it'll extend until you can place it on fixings, remove coins.

5p? Nice and neat :)
You can get quite a few of them within Trigg's 99p budget as well ;)

I’d love to take the credit for it and patent the idea, but I came across it on the Honda Twins site!
