We recently started going through our last keeper bike. It's a 1980 Suzuki GS 1100E with 17k miles on it. It's pretty crusty so we're cleaning it up as best we can. We go through everything mechanical and clean up all of the wiring connections to make it ride like new. The carbs and exhaust system was unusable so we got a stainless Delkavic 4 into 1 exhaust system and a new set of Mikuni RS 36 flat slide carbs with accelerator pump. It's going to be a hotrod. 8)

The new carbs arrived and the new exhaust system along with some of my favourite bourbon ;D

I don’t know much about Suzukis and less about bourbon, but that looks interesting.
It seems they sell it in our supermarkets.
The bourbon, not the GS

Give it a try, it's one of the top selling bourbons here. 8)

Quite a grunty motor on those, going to be interesting on those carbs too and should have an "entertaining" top end hit :) it's Suzuki's TSCC design if I remember correctly.
Saw one in spectator area at Silverstone GP race when fairly new that had been modded by completely stripped with motor painted in a very high gloss "piano" black, drew a fair crowd too although sounding odd in description it was immaculately carried out and looked stunning.

An old, black ET 1100 was the first bike I did over a ton on, 135 in fact, up passed Menwith Hill Station on the way to Skipton on the A59. I was laughing my head off in my crap, FM lid complete with sketchy black visor, with my white scarf flapping about behind me. A proper hoot at the age of 17. Sooooo cool ;D
Can't condone such irrisponsible behavoir now obviously and would never ream of going that fast now!................Your Honour 8)
;D ;D
Bullet proof motor with ace delivery and grunt from really low down which meant you could just leave it in what ever gear and just stomp out of corners with the back squatting on the saggy shocks. Crap Metzlers either end and a cheesy grin from ear to ear, what a summer. ;D ;D

We've resurrected an 81' GS 1100E for a friend a while back and liked it so much we got our own. This one won't be as nice looking but will be faster. 8)
